A busy start to the new year...

It's been a busy start to the new year for me with some time spent away from the confines of my desk. It's been good to get out and about networking at events and to give my time back to the local community at Pudsey Grangefield School.

First up in January I attended a Visit York business members event at the Merchant Adventurers Hall in York, on behalf of my client Dancing Goat Coffee. The VY members were over the moon to be served up an unlimited amount of quality bespoke coffee and other hot drinks throughout the night, and it was great to see Dancing Goat Coffee making such a positive impact at the event. It was also a delight to see some of my hard work with their branding and marketing collateral being put to good use. View my portfolio to see some of the work I have done for Dancing Goat so far.

On the 25th January, I temporarily went back to school! I was delighted to be asked by the Ahead Partnership to judge some sixth form students in a project that they had set up as part of their mission to connect employers with education, public and private sector partners. Two other professional panellists and I were required to judge five groups of students tasked with creating a concept for a new festival idea. They were required to present all of the elements of what makes up the organisation of a music festival; budgets, marketing, site management, sponsorship, operations, negotiation and artist bookings. All of us panellists were very impressed with the level of detail, ingenuity and the concepts that the students presented, and I really enjoyed judging and interacting with the budding event organisers.

All in all a very productive and enjoyable January!
